As a UK based naturist organisation seeking to ‘go International’ we have recently been looking for advertising opportunities abroad.
Since ‘foreign language skills’ isn’t my strong point, it really comes down to the USA and Canada (and Mexico).
Why the Difference?
Since the naturist community is really a small minority of the population as a whole (just about everywhere), and since the USA, Canada and Mexico are BIG countries with (generally speaking) a much more dispersed population than the UK, what we have in the UK probably wouldn’t work very well there.
That is, what is primarily a coffee shop / club which members can come to perhaps 2 or 3 times a week – the travelling distance required for most people would just be too great.
The Solution
We have decided to put the accent on the B&B side of it.
That is, have a number of venues in the USA, Canada and Mexico that offer B&B facilities.
A Community of Managers
We can’t see that we can have such a ‘hands on’ approach (in the Americas), and therefore to expect people to pay ‘a significant franchise fee’ isn’t really on.
Our Role
Offer our services in getting naturists generally (in North America and also in the UK) to hear all about these naturist B&B facilities.
Your Role
Provide a sort of ‘Community’ of Managers who want to provide naturist B&B facilities, with certain things in common.
Requirements
What Should They Have In Common?
Bedrooms
A number of bedrooms available (this number will vary considerably from venue to venue).
Breakfast Room
A breakfast room / coffee shop area for guests.
Sitting Room
At least one ‘sitting room’ – probably a ‘TV room’ that guests can relax in.
The 'Rule'
In common with our own experience, it should be more or less a ‘rule’ that guests are
expected to be nude ‘most of the time’ when in
either the breakfast room, or the TV room.
(Individual managers may decide to
add to these ‘rules’ – and it will be up to them to do this.)
The Registry
We will provide a ‘registry’ of these places, giving a brief description of each one, including their location, their facilities, their costs (e.g. cost for B&B) and any other relevant information.
We aim to continue to advertise quite widely both in the UK and in the Americas (in particular) and be a centre for people looking for naturist B&B in these places.
